If you’ve been to Italy, you’ve probably been to Rome. It’s got most of the sites and attractions that come to mind when people even THINK of Italy: the Colosseum, the Pantheon, the Forum, Saint Peter’s Basilica. The city’s cobblestone streets, medieval architecture, and Renaissance-era fountains are (literally) what romance is made of.
GARDENS OF BOMARZO IN NORTHERN LAZIO
But for a truly unique travel experience, I like to visit the most unusual places of the country, where tourists are rare to see, places with one-of-a-kind photo ops, and chances to interact with authentic local Italian communities.
THE MATERA SASSI IN BASILICATA
Have you heard of Baia? It was the Las Vegas of ancient times, attracting people from far and wide to its state-of-the-art baths and nightlife spaces. Powerful icons of ancient times were known to frequent Baia, from Nero to Cicero to Julius Caesar. If you want to walk in their footsteps now, however, you’ll need some scuba gear.
THE SUNKEN CITY OF BAIA IN NAPOLI
Because of Baia’s location over natural volcanic vents, its water level slowly rose to swallow its once majestic buildings. Saracens sacked it by 1500, but some meaningful relics still remain under its waters to this day. Take time to visit Baia for an unparalleled perspective on antiquity. You’ll feel like it’s been frozen in time! It’s truly like no other place.
Farm stays in Bavaria seem to be very popular. You can rent a room or furnished apartment on a farm and experience some of the farm life. This year we stayed on a farm, near Chiemsee, and had a lovely time. All the villages in the Bavarian alps are lovely so you probably can’t go wrong wherever you pick.
Another nice area is Bayerischer Wald on Czech border. A few years ago we stayed a week in Lalling in Bayerischer Wald.
We stayed in Fussen at Hotel Bergruh. It is close to the castles and a wonderful little Bavarian town. In Füssen, restaurants serve the most palatable and delectable food, oh my!
Bavaria’s town’s and cities provide a range of unusual ways for visitors of all ages to explore their heritage, their rich past and the life in the city today. If you want to experience the exotic magic paradises of the world, you must visit the Bavarian cities, woodlands, castles, villages, alps, forests and towns.
The lakes and wetlands along the coastlines are important stopover points for many migrating birds. The government has set up reserves for the birds’ protection.
Germany is full of famous, spectacular things to explore. However, if you venture beyond the tourist attractions, you would discover a side to the I Its beauty that is quirky, astonishing, and sometimes even downright weird but wonderfully unique.
The series of caves known as Cuevas de Nerja, above, close to the pretty seaside town of the same name was discovered by boys bunking off school in the 1950s.
Reaching for almost three miles, they are like giant subterranean cathedrals. Be warned, it can be steep inside.
RESTAURANT “EL DIABLO” (The Devil) 🍺 🍤 🥣
One of España’s most unique eating experiences has to be having your food cooked right on top of an active volcano. Restaurante el Diablo – Devil’s Restaurant – is located in the Timanfaya National Park in Lanzarote and cooks its meat and vegetable dishes in the geothermal heat of the volcano.
THE SECOND LARGEST CHAIR IN THE WORLD 😮 😻
Perhaps one of the most random entries on the list is the world’s second-largest chair in the town of Lucena, near Córdoba. España briefly succeeded with this eight-storey high, over 26-metre creation, but was soon cruelly pipped to first place by an Austrian chair.
SIERRA NEVADA (SNOWED MOUNTAIN RANGE)
Drive along Europe’s highest road for snow, then head an hour south to sunbathe on the Costa del Sol.
It is a hybrid super sports car that will only seat two. It is an automobile with beauty, comfort and modernity. The Lambo family loves to surprise its customers and fans by innovating its models and creating new ones pretty often.
This is something I never thought I would contemplate in my lifetime – an electric Lamborghini. Some might call this whole idea sacrilegious, but the Italian supercar company knows that electric and hybrid cars are the future, and they don’t intend on being left behind.
This year the Terzo Lamborghini is initiating another revolution in speed, digitalizations and super-advanced mechanizations of the automovil.
This model is a fast most beautiful spaceship on earth!
It is actually a concept of the Terzo Millennio and it will inevitably offer far more visual impact than a fully formed production vehicle.
That said, we hope Lambo keeps as much of the original design as possible when creating its first hybrid.
Apparently, it’s codenamed the LB48H, and it could very well preview a replacement for Lambo’s current flagship model, the mighty Aventador.
So far, Lamborghini is keeping its cards close to the chest.
The Lambo company teamed up with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology last year in order to “rewrite the rules on super sports cars,” and the Lambo Terzo Millennio, an electric hypercar concept with some really bold ideas under its hood, is the result of this collaboration.
United States President, Abraham Lincoln, loved all animals, especially cats. He loved cats so much that his wife once said that cats were her husband’s hobby.
The then, Secretary of State William Seward, gave two kittens on Lincoln as a White House gift. The President loved to spend hours just petting the cats and talking to them.
He fed his kitties at the table. One time he used a gold fork to do that, which was too much for Mrs. Lincoln. His response?
“If a gold fork was good enough for former President Buchanan, it’s good enough for Tabby.”
AMAZING FUN CAT FACTS:
Cats have over 20 muscles that control their ears.
A group of cats is called clowder.
Cats have more data storage than an iPad.
Abraham Lincoln had four cats in the White House.
Adult cats only meow to communicate with humans.
Some cats are ambidextrous. Although 40 to 50% of female cats are typically right-pawed, while male cats are typically left-pawed: Psychologists Deborah Wells and Sarah Millsopp of Queen’s University Belfast tested 42 house cats — 21 males and 21 females — to determine whether they favored their right or left paws when performing tasks of varying difficulty. Their report on the results has been accepted for publication in the journal Animal Behavior of Science Direct (play with your kitties and let me know if this is true. I did it and couldn’t prove it, 🤩 but then again, I’m not a Psychologist).
SO SORRY dog lovers: A cat’s cerebral cortex (the part of the brain in charge of cognitive information processing) has 300 million neurons, compared with a dog’s 160 million. (BTW, (I love dogs too 🐶).
Cats are very picky creatures about their “bathroom.” If you have more than one feline, you should have one litter box for each one of them.
They are the only mammals that cannot taste sweetness (no cake for my kitty-cats on my birthday).
A cat can jump six times his length in a single bound.
Cats love routine. Any change in their routine makes them mad, upset. Some cats get sick, they can vomit or refuse to eat.
When Cats Leave Their Poop Uncovered It’s a Sign of Aggression.
Kneading is a sign of contentment and happiness. Cats knead their mothers when they are nursing to stimulate the let-down of milk.
There are currently 45 Hemingway cats living at the writer’s former home in Key West, Fla.
A cat’s nose is ridged with a unique pattern, just like a human fingerprint.
The first cat in space was a French cat named Felicette (a.k.a. “Astrocat”) In 1963, France blasted the cat into outer space. Electrodes implanted in her brains sent neurological signals back to Earth. She survived the trip.
A cat can travel at a top speed of approximately 31 mph (49 km) over a short distance.
In several countries of Europe and North America black cats are a sign of bad luck, but in Britain and Australia black cats are considered lucky!
Usually, a cat has about 12 whiskers on each side of its face. Have you counted them already? 😇
A cat’s jaw can’t move sideways, that is why a cat can’t chew large chunks of food.
There is no magic pill to success. You need to work hard and adore what you do if you want to accomplish your purpose in life.
It is annoying to hear people complain about money all the time and how hard everything is, but they don’t do anything about it.
Everything worthwhile in this life is not easy to acquire. It requires effort, knowledge and true passion.
DON’T BE LAZY and WAKE UP!
When you really want to achieve your goals and the passion you have inside is strong, then 24 hours are not enough. You can’t wait for the new day to start, to see the dawn and get ready to work on your objective.
But if you are lazy or you are not sincere about acquiring success, then every little rock in your path is going to be a huge obstacle to continue.
Lazy people want to be on Facebook and other social media all the time sharing their fake lives, or they want to spend the day playing games and do nothing productive.
FIRST OF ALL:
You need to have a vision of where you want to go, if you don’t have a goal where you wish to go you will end up anywhere and nowhere. Organize, make a plan and then go for it, full force and do not let anybody and nothing to stop you from getting where you want to be.
Resting and allowing yourself to goof around is simply not allowed for “go getters” . Winners don’t know the meaning of a long vacation because they are busy working on their purpose in life, their goal, their objective.
Amazing artistic architects create homes that are unique wonders around the world. The singular winsomeness of these structures are mind and eye captivating.
Some of them might look uncomfortable or rustic, but they have the most modern technology and ample spaces to perform any activity within the house. The bedrooms, living rooms and bathrooms of these houses are enormous.
For example, the retro design of the first house image (the Flintstones Cave house) is most certainly not stuck in the past. It comes with spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean, a large television area, a spacious kitchen and fully working WI-FI.
The second image is the Star Trek House. It is designed with the interior of the Star Trek Voyager spaceship, complete with LED lighting and intergalactic sound effects.
The third house is House Spitbank Fort in the Solent near Portsmouth Harbour
The fourth image is of a floating house, which is very stable and combines both nautical and modern luxury. It boasts 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a rooftop terrace, a boat lift and deed parking.
Shoes are a design statement, pieces of art: e.g. Manolo Blahnik, Prada, Jimmy Choo, and of course, my favorite, Chris Louboutin. At their best, they are a design statement, pieces of art almost.
The classic Louboutin style is the Pigalle, which is basically a very sophisticated pointed pump. It rarely goes on sale around the world, even the seasonal colours usually sell out long before the sale even begins and if you’re after the nude or black, expect the prices to go up almost year on year.
Not all Chris Louboutin’s are high heels. He has created divine Velvet Venetian Loafers that are chic and comfortable.
In my opinion, Christian Louboutin’s are the most luxurious and alluring shoes in the world. Their elegance makes any woman’s legs look like a piece of art, sensual and attractive, giving the whole body that look of independence and power any modern woman loves to wear. A fetching combination!
