“Perhaps one reason we are fascinated with these felines is because such a small animal can contain so much independence, dignity, and freedom of spirit. He demands acceptance on his own terms.” – Lloyd Alexander

SOME INTERESTING FACTS:
This fluffy friend of us is a small, usually furry, domesticated, carnivorous mammal that is valued by humans for its companionship and for its ability to hunt vermin and household pests.
They have been associated with humans for at least 9,500 years, and are currently the most popular pet in the world. Owing to their close association with humans. They are now found almost everywhere in the world.
The writer David Derbyshire cites a 2007 CE research project in which, “the study used DNA samples from 979 wild and domestic kittens to piece together the feline family tree.
They looked for markers in mitochondrial DNA – a type of genetic material passed down from mothers to kittens which can reveal when wild and domestic ones lineages were most closely related.”
I like my Hot Bacon Dressing salad without gluten. Gluten makes me feel bloated and I try to avoid it the most I can. Fry bacon til crisp. Remove the bacon with a slotted spoon and set aside. Add onion to bacon fat in pan and cook 5 minutes til onion is soft. With a slotted spoon, add onion to bacon. Pour bacon fat into a measuring cup and add vegetable oil to equal 1/2 cup. Add bacon fat to cornstarch mixture and reserve. Combine vinegar, water, sugar, salt and pepper in a small saucepan and heat to a boil. Add cornstarch mixture and cook til thickened (1-2 minutes). Remove from heat and add bacon and onion. Use while warm.
